March 24, 2000. The
Canadian Polski Owczarek Nizinny Club (CPONC) of Canada wishes to announce that
The Polski Owczarek Nizinny was accepted into the Canadian Kennel Club’s (CKC)
Miscellaneous class on March 24, 2000 in Toronto, Ontario. Voted in unanimously
by the board of the Canadian Kennel Club, the next step for this breed is to
obtain full recognition of the breed in the near future.
The CKC has a rich history dating back to the year 1888 and is involved in many aspects of purebred dogs in Canada. The CKC is incorporated under the Animal Pedigree Act (APA) which is governed by Canada’s Federal Department of Agriculture.
Acceptance into the Canadian Kennel Club Miscellaneous class means that PON owners can now show and CKC sanctioned shows for conformation, as well as obedience and agility matches. In addition, PONS can now compete in designated events approved by the CKC upon applying for and being issued a Miscellaneous Class Certification Number for each dog.
